The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra municipal body with jurisdiction over the
territory located north of the 55th parallel, is now looking for a self-motivated and dynamic
individual interested in joining the KRG to work in the capacity of:
SCHOOL PERSEVERANCE OFFICER - ESUMA
(PERMANENT, FULL-TIME)
Under the supervision of the ESUMA Coordinator of the Sustainable Employment Department,
the School Perseverance Officer is responsible to initiate and follow-up actions in order to
develop, in close collaboration with the communities, concerted actions promoting school
perseverance and educational success. The School Perseverance Officer has responsibility
for, without being limited to, the following duties:
Raise awareness and work in concert with the various actors who influence school
perseverance and educational success;
Organize and promote local meetings to implement the actions provided for in the
plan;
Support local stakeholders in the development of projects;
Make recommendations and ensure the administrative follow-ups of projects;
Create links with the communities to promote the development of educational
partnerships in order to have a positive impact on the success and academic
perseverance of students;
Support schools in the planning, development and evaluation of projects involving the
school, families and/or the communities;
Participate in the organization of certain activities of the school network involving
partners;
Offer support to local communities in the implementation of each of the mobilization
stages leading to the development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans.
Carry out any related tasks as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a post-secondary diploma in communication, education, or any other appropriate
field of specialization;
2 years relevant experience;
Demonstrate excellent professional autonomy in order to work with ease within an
organization that serves a remote region;
Knowledge of the issues of school perseverance and educational success priorities;
Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, file management and adaptation
skills;
Initiative, leadership, teamwork, and partnership skills;
Skilled in developing orientations likely to mobilize community partners;
Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages;
Inuktitut, English and French;
Able to travel within Nunavik.

Salary: Min: $ 51,077/year, max: $ 86,867/year (Class 8)

AGENT EN PERSÉVÉRANCE SCOLAIRE - ESUMA
(POSTE PERMANENT À TEMPS PLEIN)

Sous la supervision du coordinateur ESUMA du service de l’emploi durable, l’agent de développement est chargé de prendre des mesures et de faire un suivi, afin d’élaborer, en étroite collaboration avec les communautés, des mesures concertées favorisant la persévérance scolaire et la réussite scolaire. L’agent en persévérance scolaire devra assumer les tâches suivantes, sans s’y limiter :

• Sensibiliser les différents acteurs qui ont une influence sur la persévérance scolaire et la réussite scolaire et travailler de concert avec eux;
• Organiser et promouvoir des réunions locales pour mettre en œuvre les mesures prévues dans le plan;
• Soutenir les intervenants locaux dans le cadre de l’élaboration de projets;
• Formuler des recommandations et assurer le suivi administratif des projets;
• Former des liens avec les communautés pour promouvoir l’établissement de partenariats éducatifs afin d’avoir une incidence positive sur la réussite et la persévérance scolaire des élèves;
• Soutenir les écoles au chapitre de la planification, de l’élaboration et de l’évaluation de projets touchant l’école, les familles ou les communautés;
• Participer à l’organisation de certaines activités du réseau scolaire auxquelles des partenaires prendront part;
• Offrir un soutien aux communautés locales dans la mise en œuvre de chacune des étapes de mobilisation menant à l’élaboration, à la mise en œuvre et à la surveillance des plans d’action.
• Effectuer toute tâche connexe demandée.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Avoir un diplôme d’études postsecondaires en communication, en éducation ou dans tout autre domaine de spécialisation approprié;
• Compter 2 années d’expérience pertinente;
• Faire preuve d’un grand degré d’autonomie professionnelle afin de travailler avec aisance au sein d’une organisation qui sert une région éloignée;
• Connaissance des enjeux de la persévérance scolaire et des priorités de la réussite scolaire;
• Solides compétences en matière de communication interpersonnelle, d’organisation, de gestion de dossiers et d’adaptation;
• Sens de l’initiative, leadership, capacité de travailler en équipe et capacité de former des partenariats;
• Compétences en matière d’élaboration d’orientations susceptibles de mobiliser les partenaires communautaires;
• Connaissance pratique (écrite et orale) d’au moins deux (2) des langues suivantes : inuktitut, anglais et français.
• Volonté de voyager à l’intérieur du Nunavik.

Salaire : Minimum : 52,481.52$/an, max : 89,256.44$/an (classe 8)
